Archaeologist Caught Red-Handed

While it is not unusual to find attempts to deceive professional archaeologists by faking artifacts, it is rare when the trickster is a professional archaeologist. Recently a nationally famous Japanese archaeologist admitted that he had planted ceramic artifacts in a site so that he could "discover" them later. His deception was detected by a hidden video camera and now every site that he has worked on is now under scrutiny.
