glass ceiling the notion that barriers impede or prevent a discrete population from obtaining senior positions and or higher salary levels in organizations.
glass cliff a situation where someone, particularly a woman, has been promoted into a risky, difficult job where the chances of failure are high.
glass elevator the rapid promotion of men over women, especially into management, in female-dominated fields like nursing.
knowledge transfer the process of "systematically organized exchange of information and skills between entities."
polycentric staffing an HR policy whereby indigenous managers within the host country fill key management positions.
rotational awareness building assignments assignments that aim to increase cultural sensitivity; generally last less than one year and allow employees to commute.
