The goal of this exercise is to increase your ability to create easy-to-read paragraphs, sections, and chapters by following Chapter 7's guidelines.
The Exercise
The sentences below were taken from the introduction to an informational pamphlet on gene therapy. The statements have been scrambled, and each statement has been assigned a number.
Your assignment has two parts. First, write the numbers of the sentences in the order in which the sentences would appear if the introduction were written in accordance with the guidelines in Chapter 7. Second, using the list you have made, rewrite the passage by rephrasing the sentences. The finished passage should conform to the guidelines in Chapter 7.
The Introduction to the Pamphlet
