The Exercise

Find four examples of sentences where Chapter 8's guidelines on constructing sentences in Chapter 8 have not been followed. Consider looking in instruction manuals, textbooks, and magazines. You might even consider looking in assignments you've written for this or other courses.

Provide the original text, your revision, and a brief explanation of the reason for the revision (to eliminate unnecessary words, to use the active voice rather than the passive voice, etc.).
