Crow Indian Chiefs and Crow Prisoners, 1887

The Crow chiefs in the first photograph were captured by the U.S. army on November 7, 1887, at Custer Battlefield, Montana, after a fight at the Crow Agency. The Crow leaders were imprisoned at Fr. Snelling, Minnesota, in 1887. Their names were: Crazy-Head, Looks-with-his-Ears, Rock, The-Man-that-carries-his-food, The Bank, Deaf Bull, Big-Hail-Stone, and Crazy Head's Son.

The second photograph shows Crow prisoners taken after the same fight. Their names were: Crazy Head, Knowing his Coos, Deaf Bull, The Bank, Looks-with-his-Ears, Big-Hail-Stone, The-Man-that-carries-his-food, and Rock.
