Techniques for making Notebook files

The Notebook is a multimedia authoring tool. It enables users to write and print their own essays, and to cut and paste text, images, and other media from the CD-ROM into their Notebook file. If you and your students practice with the Notebook, you will find it to be a very flexible device that encourages creative thinking and expression.

• Make your own Notebook files for students.
  Your Notebook files can show students what assignments to complete.
• Ask students to turn in Notebooks.
  Students can complete the essays proposed for each unit, and turn their files in to you for evaluation. Or students could write other essays you assign them.
• Have students share Notebook files.
  You can post Notebook files to a common site, or send them to students as e-mail attachments.

They can then explore each other’s essays and interpretations.
