Techniques for teaching with the Migration CD-ROM:

For Lecture and Discussion
Present the CD in class with a projector. Lecture from prepared script, or use it with discussion, following suggestions from students.

For Computer Lab
Where all students have the CD-ROM, or are working in teams of two or three on a computer, you can lead them through the exercises.

For Homework
You can ask students to read certain sections, answer the questions in certain of the Analyses, or write essays in the Notebook. Students can turn in their answers to you as session files, saved with their names or with other file names. Similarly, they can turn in their essays as Notebook files.

For Term Papers
Students can do research through the documents in the Migration CD-ROM. The books, videos, and websites listed in the Library section will prompt them to look further for additional information.

Using the Migration CD-ROM in groups:

Each CD is a self-contained product, operated locally on the user’s computer. It does not link directly to the World Wide Web, and it cannot be placed on a local-area network. A "site license" for the Migration CD-ROM at a school site or other institution, therefore, means a discount price for purchase of additional copies of the CD-ROM used at that site.
