Search through the threads and posts and find an interesting federalism issue on a specific newsgroup. Read all the relevant posts so you understand the nature and scope of the discussion.
1. What is the issue? What are some of the important views of it expressed in the newsgroup?
2. Research the issue in the library and on the Internet. What are the main facts?
3. What is your opinion on this issue? What should the government and/or the citizenry do about it?
4. Send a clear and concise post to the newsgroup containing your thoughts. Before sending, proofread carefully for clarity, grammar, and spelling.
5. Did your post spark specific responses? What were they? Did they further the argument, leading to greater understanding of the issue?
