Party History

Both major parties formed in the nineteenth century and have since seen major changes in supporters, policies, and fortunes. Examine important aspects of the history of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. What were important policy positions of the past? What were their triumphs and failures? Who were important figures and what were there contributions? How have the two parties changed over time?
