Participation Activity 2
A common form of political participation is actively supporting a candidate running for office.
1. Choose a candidate for local, state, or national office. Given the large number of elected offices in the United States, you should be able to find a candidate for a race that will be decided within the next few months to a year. The local League of Women Voters can help you make contact with the campaign. You can also search the Internet for the candidate’s Web site.
2. What were you asked to do by the campaign?
3. Did you enjoy these activities?
4. Did you like the people you worked with?
5. How did the experience change your view of politics and political campaigns?
