Pick a specific foreign policy that is currently under consideration in Congress. Gain a deep understanding of the issue through research on the Internet and in the library.


1. What policy did you choose? Why did you choose it?




2. Visit http://thomas.loc.gov/ to find out which committee(s) cover that policy and who the committee members are. Which committees are involved with legislation on this issue?




3. Contact committee members and explain what you want them to do and why. Follow the steps presented at http://www.speakout.com: Click on the "Activism" link and then click on "Tips for Effective Activism."


4. Did you receive responses? What were they?




5. Do you feel you made an impact? Why or why not?
