Geography question:
Observe the location of the Korean peninsula in east Asia. What is a geographic reason it seems an unlikely focus of US anti-Communist policies? What a geographic reason Korea has been a focus of those anti-Communist policies?
Demographics question:
What do the data about infant mortality and life expectancy tell us about the public policies (not just economic) of North and South Korea? What do the data suggest about the politics of the two countries?
Comparison question:
The GDP per capita of the USA is $36,200. The GDP per capita of India is $2,200. In Japan, that number is $24,900.
What is the GDP per capita in South and North Korea? Make a hypothesis about what those data mean for the regimes of South and North Korea? Explain the reasoning upon which you based your hypothesis.
