Afghanistan

Geography question:
If, as its position in west Asia implies, Afghanistan has been a crossroads of cultural mobility for thousands of years, what geographic features help explain why Afghanistan has had less political success (unity, stability, affluence, etc.) than its western and eastern neighbors (Iran and Pakistan)?
Demographics question:
Are there any data on Afghanistan that suggest hope for a better future socially, politically, or economically? Which data did you examine? Why did you accept or reject the data as hopeful?
Comparison question:
When looking at these data, it’s difficult to imagine a country more different from the USA than Afghanistan. Choose three sets of data you believe best illustrate political differences. Explain the differences illustrated and explain the reasoning behind your choices.
