Difficulties of the American Occupation

President Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and other high-ranking Bush administration officials had argued during the run-up to the invasion of Iraq that the post-war occupation would go smoothly and that the Americans would be treated as liberators by a grateful Iraqi nation. The reality has been quite different. What have been the major problems the Bush administration has faced in Iraq? Why have these occurred? Which forces are opposed to the American occupation?
