The Vietnam War
The inability of the United States to achieve its objectives in the Vietnam War led to a major rethinking of military doctrine, especially regarding when and in what ways the United States would use military force abroad. Examine the Vietnam conflict. What caused it? Why were American forces unable to defeat North Vietnam and the Vietcong? What was the long-term impact of the war on American foreign and military policy?
