Terrorism
Many terrorist groups are international in scope and act on targets in several countries.
Al Qaeda, the group responsible for the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the
United States, is a prime example.

2. What are the most important current news stories related to terrorism?
3. Go to the "Analysis and Commentary" section. What do the articles state
about the nature and potential threat of weapons of mass destruction and chemical
and biological weapons? What are the main points of the article on cyberterrorism?
4. Go to the "Documents" section. Pick three documents and summarize the
important points of each.
5. Go to the "Profiles" section. Research three groups. What are the important
aspects of each?
6. Given what you have learned about terrorism from this site and other sources of
information, what do you think the United States government should do to combat terrorism?
Has it been doing an adequate job so far? How would you perform the task if you were
the President of the United States?
