Martin Luther opposed the revolt. 1. What types of grievances did the peasants present in the Twelve Articles? Who are the targets of the grievances? 2. In what ways do the grievances invoke Protestant themes, at least as peasants might have understood them? 3. Is it significant that the peasants came together to formally write these grievances? Why? What does this suggest about the power of the peasants?
