Most students worry about how to effectively explain the study or tell participants that they were deceived without eliciting anger. It is a good idea to write a script of your explanation. While it would be awkward to read the script verbatim to everyone, it is relatively easy to memorize it so that it flows naturally. This allows you to be consistent in how you explain the study across participants and to be comfortable enough with your explanation to be able to respond to specific questions and concerns.
