The Results section describes the statistical analyses and their results. In this section we evaluate whether the appropriate statistics were used to test study hypotheses and whether the study findings are clearly presented. You should be able to summarize the results of statistical analyses and address whether the results adequately answer the research question. Tables and figures are also used to present study findings. These should be reviewed and evaluated as part of the presentation of findings.
A 2 (task) x 2 (gender) ANOVA was used to test the study hypothesis. Gender was included in the analyses as a statistical control. A main effect for task was found, F(1, 28) = 51.5, p < .0001. Those in the symbolic condition performed much worse than those in the nonsymbolic condition.
