Students have many options today for searching the literature, including a wide array of Internet resources. Internet search engines such as Google, Infoseek, and AltaVista can point you to investigators doing compelling research of interest to you. Organizational (e.g., APA [www.apa.org], American Psychological Society (www.psychologicalscience .org]) and governmental (e.g., Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [www.cdc.gov], US Census [www.census.gov]) Web sites are also very helpful for highlighting current research. The APA supports a database of abstracts in psychology called PsycINFO. Most college campuses have this database (or the similar PsycLIT) available for electronic searches. College campuses may also subscribe to journals that provide full copies of articles electronically. Your textbook may come with an Internet service such as INFOTRAC that gives you online access to a wide range of publications.
