If your goal was to study the prevalence of different emotional disorders on campus, you might take a different approach. Rather than seek a broad overview of all disorders, you might group the questions by disorder and begin each section with a very specific screening question. For example, for eating disorders you might begin with "Do you ever feel that your eating habits are not healthy (e.g., eat too much, eat too little, eat the wrong kinds of food)?" If the participant answers "No" then you would go on to the next group of questions. If the response is yes, you can proceed to ask about specific aspects of eating disorders.
