This tutorial is designed to help you understand the structure of factorial analysis of variance (ANOVA). The tutorial begins with an overview of factorial ANOVA. It is followed by a demonstration of the calculations needed for factorial ANOVA. Once you understand how to set up the factorial ANOVA, you should test your knowledge by doing the calculations.
This tutorial assumes that you know the basic logic of analysis of variance. It is not designed to teach you factorial ANOVA but to review how to set up and perform the calculations for factorial ANOVA.
Why Is This Important?
Factorial analysis of variance is a very flexible statistical technique that allows us to analyze the effects of more than one independent variable. The calculations, though, can be quite cumbersome. This workshop is designed to take you through each step required to calculate a 2 x 2 between-groups ANOVA.
