Factorial ANOVA is a flexible data analytic technique that allows us to test hypotheses about means when we have two or more independent variables in the design. This tutorial is limited to between-subjects factorial ANOVA. Repeated measures and mixed factorial analysis of variance have some special issues that are best addressed in a separate tutorial.
