You compare every possible pairing.

  • 1ST VS SOPH
  • 1ST VS JUNIOR
  • 1ST VS SENIOR
  • SOPH VS JUNIOR
  • SOPH VS SENIOR
  • JUNIOR VS SENIOR

This gives you more information but it is harder to get significance. All of this can be done on computers. There are many different techniques and debates about which is best - check your textbook.

You may be interested that I did this analysis on our drinking data, and all pairs are different except Sophomores and Juniors. They weren't significantly different.
