We know that the area under a curve represents relative frequency, or the probability of occurrence. This tells us the probability that our sample came from the known population. If the probability is high, we conclude that the sample came from the known population (null). If the probability is low, we conclude that the sample probability came from a different population (alternative).

Let's look at our example again. What would you conclude?
